GENE SIMMONS Launches Magazine, Gets Put In His Place By PAUL STANLEY
June 3, 2002The premiere issue of Gene Simmons Tongue, the new magazine headed up by KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons, is due to officially hit the streets tomorrow, June 4th. To promote the publication's launch, Simmons will be throwing a party at Studio 54 in New York City on June 5th, at Barfly in Los Angeles on June 11th and at the Cinevegas Closing Party in Las Vegas on June 15th. Additional appearances on ABC's Live With Regis And Kelly and CNN are also scheduled for this week. According to Simmons, the magazine "has already appeared on some news stands in NY and LA and from the looks of things, WE HAVE A HUGE SMASH. We intend on waiting a few months (quarterly) between the first issue or two and then we will accelerate our publishing schedule."
In related news, KISS guitarist/vocalist Paul Stanley had the following response when asked by a fan for his opinion on some of Gene's embarrassing actions on TV and radio: "My opinion of the choices Gene chooses for himself is not important. My only concern is when he misrepresents either himself or KISS to impress or shock people. It's insulting and a disservice to both KISS and our fans for ANY member to dismiss our integrity or manipulate the perception of the band for a self-serving agenda."
